'Made In Bangladesh'

This was a very in depth look at what I had only heard about on the news. I always knew that this was happening in countrys like Bangladesh but just to see the shear number of workers and then after, the amount of bodies and devestation caused by the collapse of the 8-story Rana Plaza building was a real wake up call. I bothers me that big companys like Walmart and Loblaws try to distance themselves from the insident and then try to justify that they were powerless victims of unauthorized subcontracting. What we do in our lives has become overwhelmingly dependent on quantity and price, and less of quality, safety, and by the fact that we put workers under dangerous conditions just to wear a shirt bought for $10 only to throw it away after it goes "out of style". Honestly, I hate how other human beings can be trreated this way, but what can a consumer do? Refusing to buy these clothes would result in thousands of women not getting wages and hurting their familes. What then can one do?

Social Emotional Report Card

Today in class we read the constructive comments left by our classmates that worked in part with our interm reports. I was surprised by the amount of genuin comments that didn't say "you are a good person", most of the comments were great and many of them made me smile right where I sat. It was nice to see that some people had fun with the assignment and that some took time into actually writting meaninful comments and made my day that much better.

Bridge Officer's Test- Interm Report

As a sullivan leader I feel I deserve a G in terms of work ethic. Firstly I am respectful towards my peers in and outside the class, making sure I am a good role model towards the younger generation. I am respectful towards myself. I have not done anything that would cause harm to myself or those around me and I respect others opinions as I like mine to be respected. I greatly value being individual and creative. With the role model assignement I was able to do what I felt was appropriate and still be creative and do it in a unique way. I like to encourage others to be creative, not be afraid to do things the way they want to, and to enjoy the work they do. I think that by being positive and wearing a smile you create a positive environment and by obviously not inflicting mental and physical harm to others. I feel I accomplish that on a day to day basis. One of my passions would be to play music. I have been "keeping tenancious with my passions" by being in the process of volunteering at a senior home in order to play music for them. With this I have also been able to provide a friend of mine with an oppurtunity to play music with me for seniors.
