As this sememster comes to a wind down, it's time to reflect. This is my second year being in community leadership and I am thankful for the opportunity to once again be able to experience a variety of opportunities and to grow as a leader in an independent and social sense. Though the class dynamic has changed, I believe I am still the same person I was last year. I do think that I have improved greatly with public speaking over the course of this semester and last year and with help from the ypi project that was presented infront of the senior classes in the bell centre.(that Lynn and I won!) I also believe that I have been able to become more involved and take an initiative more. Like I mentioned once before I am volunteering with seniors along with Cathy. I also think that having two of my closest friends in the class is great because now we can easily volunteer outside of school together, as we get together and discuss volunteer opportunities together. I also volunteer with a family charity that gives out food to the homeless in eastvan.

Overall this semester has astounded me with how much we have accomplished so far. I enjoy how this class is able to work togther in planning activities and is able to communicate with each other with ease. I think it is difficult to put a percentage to this type of class with such a difference look on learning but I would give myself a G for workhabit and an A (95%). I hope to continue to grow and benefit from this class.
Love the growth mindset Jessica! "I think it is difficult to put a percentage to this type of class with such a difference look on learning but". Touche. Thank you for sharing and for all that you bring to class. Your group of girls has brought an element of maturity and quirkiness to the dynamic!

ReplyDeleteGreat post Jessica! I agree that it is hard to put a percent grade on such a unique class like this.
ReplyDeleteYou are a strong leader, and I admire the maturity and knowledge that you bring to the class. You always have something good to say and you're always
willing to help out!
P.S. please check out my blog :)
Your leadership skills are a significant contribution to our class dynamic and it wouldn't be the same without you. JAJA, NAW DAWG YOU DA BOMB DIGGITY KEEP IT UP YO.
ReplyDeleteYou're a great leader! I love how you bring such s positive attitude to our class! You bring amazing ideas to our class:)!
ReplyDeleteLove to see all the positive comments from your peers. You mentioned playing music at the seniors centre. I would love to hear more about this. As your 'formal' leadership journey draws to a close, I trust that your understanding of altruistic community service has become a way of life. As a course in school, many view volunteering as a chore on a checklist. As a mindset, it is sustainable habit. Keep the spirit Jessica and stay in touch.
